When in Rome…Eat Pizza.
We started and ended our trip in Rome concluding it is in fact home to the world’s best pizza and just so happens to be hidden behind the COLOSSEUM.
By the end of our two week trip to Italy I felt like I had maranara sauce and mozzarella cheese in my veins, I hunted down the best pizza in each city on our stop and while they were all good in their own way none compared to the first pizza I had upon arrival in this magical land of top notch snacks.
It was just the right amount of fresh marinara, ooey gooey cheese, and a thin crust crisped to perfection. The pizza chef was set up with a big brick oven right in the middle of the restaurant flipping pie after pie in front of us. Chances are there will be a wait, but at night there’s live accordion music that makes waiting like a trending a show in itself. This was the first and last meal we ate in Italy and I have to admit, I even brought some on the plane.
Alle Carrette is the name of the pizzeria where the tastiest margarita pizza will only cost you €6 and a marinara pizza even less at €5.50! Oh and definitely get the house wine. A carafe will cost you less than a glass in the states. 12/10 recommend this place that I will likely be dreaming about - forever.
Drooling yet? Same.
